Next auction
will be on May 17, 2008 at 10:00am. Gates will open at
9:00am. |
The Lubbock Police Department
auctions off approximately 100 to 150 abandoned vehicles
monthly. The next auction will be held on Saturday, May 17,
2008. The auction will take place at Lubbock Wrecker
Service, 3209 Slaton Highway.

Auction Rules
and Information |

1. |
All bidders must register before 10:30 a.m. -No
exceptions. |

2. |
The auction gates will only be open on the Saturday of
the auction. They will be open until 6:30 pm, giving the
buyers an extra 1 ½ hours to get their cars out. Gates
WILL NOT be open on Sunday. Cars left will pay storage
fees to Lubbock Wrecker after Saturday. |

3. |
Auction bidders will be given a self adhesive sticker
with their bid number on it. These will be worn as long
as they are at the auction. This will allow auction
employees to see who is around the cars since each
auctioned car has the bidders number placed on the
windshield. |

Bidders will be allowed up to two guests only with them.
They will also receive a sticker noting they are a guest
of a particular bidder. |

5. |
A police officer will be at the auction during the
entire day. Police video cameras will be active during
that time, along with Lubbock Wrecker's video cameras. |

6. |
Car buyers WILL NO LONGER be allowed to drag cars onto
the highway with ropes or chains. They must use tow
dollies, trailers or wreckers. They may also be driven
away if applicable. No wrecker or tow truck, of any
type, will be allowed in without correct TXDOT
registration. |

7. |
Gates will not be left open. ONLY people that are
bidders and their TWO guest will be allowed onto the
auction property. Guest cannot remain on property
without the bidder. YOU WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED IN IF YOU
REGISTER. Gates will be opened and closed as needed for
people to pick up and take out cars. After the auction
is concluded ONLY buyers will be allowed to remain on
property. |

8. |
All cars will either have exempt or Not Actual listed on
the mileage. Actual miles will not be listed, even
with newer model cars. |
