Officer Walter West was part of the traffic unit in 1948. He is seen standing beside his patrol unit, a 1946 Chevy. 50 years later in 1998 Cpl. Bobby Price is seen standing beside his 1997 Chevy S10 Blazer when he was assigned to the Accident Investigation Unit. Both Officer West and Cpl. Price are photographed at the same location on Broadway, in the Overton Addition.

The sixth person from the right in the back row is Grady Harris, who later became the Sheriff of Lubbock County from 1945 to 1968.
