After Academy graduation, Officers are assigned to a Patrol shift and enter the twenty (20) week Field Training Officer Program. Officers ride with training officers and are extensively evaluated on their ability to apply Academy training to on-duty service. After successfully completing this program, officers are assigned to any of four Patrol shifts.

Patrol shifts for the Lubbock Police Department include three 8 hour shifts and one 10 hour shift and are as follows:

    100 Shift    -      7:00 am to 3:00 pm      (8 hour shift)

    200 Shift    -      3:00 pm to 11:00 pm    (8 hour shift)

    300 Shift    -      5:00 pm to 3:00 am      (10 hour shift)

    400 Shift    -    11:00 pm to 7:00 am      (8 hour shift)
